This is one of my favourite juices, it just tastes like health in a glass. I am a big believer in juicing fresh vegetables, I know not all Ayurvedic practitioners are. However, I was once very ill and juicing was the thing that got me better. The ginger and the beetroots are particularly healing for me.
This recipe I got from Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary’s book called The Prime and I totally love it. It makes me feel fresh, clean and light, but it is also grounding. As with everything, try it for yourself and see how it makes YOU feel.
Prime Juice #1 for Fall, Winter and Spring
Ingredients
- 1 cucumber
- 1 apple, seeds removed
- 1 handful fresh spinach
- ¼ head purple cabbage
- 1 carrot
- 1 beet
- 1 lemon (you can use the entire lemon, but cut it into quarters before juicing)
- 1 inch peeled fresh ginger
- Optional: ½ to 1 teaspoon spirulina powder, stirred into the juice after preparing. The taste is strong, so if you want to try it, start on the low side and work up to a full teaspoon.
Instructions
- Chop the vegetables to fit your juicer.
- Put all ingredients through the juicer and drink immediately, or drink half and save the other half in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a mid-afternoon energy slump. (Do not use a blender.)
