Chapatis are so easy to make, they take no time at all to whip up and you can easily make just 1. This means no need to buy a whole packet and waste what you can't eat. They are fun to make and you get to enjoy the lovely home baked smell and ensure that you use fresh organic ingredients.
Play around with it, once you get a feel for it you can use different grains, add grated vegetables, ground nuts or even seeds.

- 1/2 cup whatever kind of flour you like
- A pinch of rock salt
- Optional- add a pinch of cinnamon for a sweeter bread or some cumin and black pepper for a savory one.
- 1Tbsp. coconut or sesame oil and a little more for cooking
- 1/4 cup water depending on the kind of flour you are using, the dough should hold together, but not be too wet. If you are adding some grated vegetables, omit or reduce the amount of water.

- Mix flour, salt, spices and oil together using your fingers.
- Keep adding the water and combining well until the dough is just slightly sticky.
- Divide into two and roll into balls.
- Cover one of the balls to stop it from drying out.
- Warm a cast iron pan over medium heat with a splash of oil.
- Roll one of the balls of chapati on a well floured board, first using your hands and then a well-floured rolling pin into a thin pancake
- They can be whatever shape you want them to be!
- Cook them for about 2 minutes on each side until they puff up a little.
- Add a bit more oil in between chapatis.
